(Picture of Silvio a Beccara, August 2003) Hello, I am Silvio a Beccara, and work in computational physics. My main interest is Quantum Monte Carlo methods for condensed matter. Currently I am working at Cornell University's Theory Center, where I am a a postdoctoral associate, with Dr. Cyrus Umrigar.

Born and raised in Trento, Italy, I recently moved to the United States.

During my Ph. D., I've written my own Path Integral Monte Carlo (PIMC) code to study vibrational dynamics in solids at low temperatures, with a particular stress on anharmonicity and thermal expansion.
