CTC is the site of the first multi-wall Windows/Intel CAVE environment. CTC's CAVE provides a three-dimensional, stereo immersive virtual reality environment for viewing scientific, engineering, architectural and art applications -- a great benefit for researchers in exploring and sharing their data with peers. The CTC Cave software comes from VRCO, Inc., and the system is powered by dual-processor Dell Precision workstations running Windows 2000.

CTC's CAVE operates under the same Windows security domain as CTC's Velocity complex. In addition, CTC offers a CAVE collaboratory where researchers can develop VR simulations on the desktop and move them seamlessly into the fully immersive environment. CTC staff experts are available for consultation and support.

CTC's CAVE virtual reality environment is available for tours and demos the last Friday of every month (excluding holidays). Contact Ken Ridley for more information
