Details on Using the SSH GUI

Double click on the SSH Secure Shell Client icon.
You will see a default login screen. As noted at the bottom, Press Enter/Space to connect. ![]() On the Connect to Remote Host screen, fill in the server to which you want to connect and
your login id as the User Name. Then click on Connect. ![]() You will next see a Host Identification screen. Click Yes.
![]() Enter your password. Click OK. ![]() You are now logged on to the login node you selected.
![]() Click on Edit and select Settings.
![]() You will see the configuration of your current connection.
![]() The Encryption Algorithm should be 3DES.
To get a scrollbar, the Terminal Answerback should be tty. (This is not selectable. You need to type it.) ![]() Next select Tunneling->Outgoing.
You will use this to set up tunneling for Terminal Services connections. Click Add. ![]() Default screen for establishing an Outgoing tunnel.
![]() In completing the screen, Display Name is a label, Destination Host is the machine
to which you will connect, and both ports should be 3389. Click OK. ![]() The Outgoing screen should look like this. Click OK.
![]() Now suppose that you would like to create and save a different type of connection, either
to a different server or with different settings. Return to the original SSH screen. Click on Profiles and select Add Profile. ![]() Default Add Profile
![]() Name the profile. Click Add the Current Connection to Profiles.
![]() Click on Profiles and select Edit Profiles.
![]() Highlight the profile you want to edit. In this case it will be the newly-created profile. Make any changes and then click OK.
![]() To save any changes made since the previous SSH session, return to the SSH login screen and click on
