Rate Schedule

Awards to use Cornell Theory Center machines are granted in wall-clock hours, not service units (SU) or CPU hours.

In our current charging structure there are no disk or memory charges associated with time on our machines.  However, wall-clock hours are charged for reserved nodes, regardless of number of nodes actually used.  The current cluster rate is defined as follows:

                1 wall-clock hour = 1 node* for 1 hour

*  A node may have more than 1 processor

For parallel execution, the number of wall-clock hours is calculated according to the following formula.

                Number of wall-clock hours = num_nodes * wall-clock hours

where:

num_nodes is the number of nodes needed

Each project account has an initial limit that is equal to the project's allocation award.  The project account balance changes daily; this balance reflects the combined usage for all users on the account.  Each userid joined to an account has a limit, either less than or equal to the account allocation.
