Statistical Abstract - The 1996 Statistical Abstract contains a collection of statistics (over 1400 tables and graphs) on social, economic, and international subjects. It is comparable to the print version. Extremely useful.
Census Bureau Home Page - Site of the US Department of the Census. It contains a section on population and housing as well as a section called ask the experts.
County and City Data Book - The latest official statistics for 1,078 cities, all 3,141 U.S. counties, and 11,097 places of 2,500 or more inhabitants (all in the United States). This is the online version of a basic reference source.
